I find that doing of the will of God leaves me no time for disputing about His plans.
George MacDonald
This quote is really resonating with me today. There are so many big changes on the horizon and some of them really scare me.
I’m not religious. I’m a believer. I believe in lots of things that sync up with many, many faiths. What I believe in most of all, though, is that love is...

What a wonderful Mothers' Day!
I got to spend time with family that I’ve missed so, so much! My cousin, Mary, (who was practically raised as my sister) was back from college. My aunt, uncle, and other cousin, Steven, were all able to make it over as well! That alone was reason to celebrate, even if it wasn’t Mothers’ Day!
We decided to have a nice, low-key barbecue and had a lovely time. We bounced around...

Shhhhh, it's a secret!
Do you remember when you were a little kid and you found out a secret? Not just a secret, but a really good secret. Something juicy, just the right mix of exciting and outrageous? Well, I have one. A few, in fact. Let me tell you, internet, I feel just like I’m a little kid who heard her parents talking about getting a puppy.
There’s so many wonderful things waiting just over the...

I'm getting an early start on spring cleaning.

There’s been a lot of negative influence in my life recently. Some people are going through personal struggles, some people are looking to start trouble, and some people just are trouble. Unfortunately, people of all three categories were pretty prominent in my life. It wasn’t until I was totally overwhelmed before I said, “I deserve...

I'm so proud of him!
Yesterday, Justin had an interview that popped up out of nowhere. He rocked it so hard that the owner only made it five minutes before offering him a job! He starts this morning! I’m so proud of him!

Some people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are.

Life has been pretty mundane here in PPK-land. I’ve started re-arranging the house. Justin is still working his butt off to get all of his sneaky previously-unknown medical debt taken care of without starving us. And, for a dose of not-fun, my tonsils (that have needed to come out for a few years now) are acting up again, but I don’t expect to have insurance until Justin’s...

At some point in the next few weeks, Sapphire would be turning a year old.
It’s… a hollow feeling knowing that someone could be calling me “Mommy” right now, but isn’t.
I wish things were different. I wish I could be Mommy.
Right now I can’t.
I’m probably going to go cry again.
September is hard.

Wedding vows
fuckyeahintrospection:
I love you like black-and-blue-berries, and rainbow-winged butterflies, and the purpled swirl of a nighttime canopy. And were I to find mossy woods to embrace, my love for you would not diminish. Love is not a brimming thimble to be watched lest it topple. Love is the water itself. It is brooks and rivers, the stillest ponds and tumultuous cascades. The more you love,...

I read through some of my old journals this morning. It’s really and truly started to hit me.
I have changed.
To see where I used to be, to hear the voice I used and to know that I’ve managed to get to where I am now is… awe-inspiring.
I am proud of myself.
I’m proud of myself for choosing the people that I have in my life. I’m proud of myself for learning the...

It pays well, it’s not far from home, and even if it is with people who aren’t so wonderful all the time, it’s so much better than the “nothing” he’s been making.

Have you ever had a moment when things suddenly make sense? Someone says a phrase that resonances with you to your core and everything becomes clear?
I just had one of those.
From a dog.
I was reading an article about the experiences of Doctor Lissa Rankin while she attempted to promote her book when I noticed a little dog on the left side of the screen offering a “Mojo Tip.”

It's storming.
It’s pouring rain, my lovely little one. I can’t help but wonder, when I finally get to meet you, will you love the rain as much as I do? Will you spend grey afternoons playing with the rain on the windows, looking back at me over your shoulder to see if I’m watching you play your wondrous new game? Will you sit awestruck in my arms and watch the bright flashes of lighting...

Well, I did it...
I just took the first steps towards getting into couponing. I’m not really expecting to pull off the miracles they do on “Extreme Couponing.” (Although, that would be nice.)
I figure we save a few dollars here, a few dollars there and we can do something fun with the money we save!
